Witties Reef - Malpelo Island

Witties Reef at Malpelo isn't a gentle drift, but it delivers. You'll drop in to the typical Malpelo wall, then follow the reef structure down, often with a good current pushing you along. This is where we’ve consistently seen massive schools of hammerheads, sometimes hundreds, circling above the reef or cruising past in formation. Keep an eye out for patrolling silky sharks and the occasional Galapagos shark too. This site is definitely one for experienced divers comfortable with current and negative entries.
