Why dive here
With 131+ marine species recorded in the area - including dolphins, humpback whales, seals & sea lions, sea turtles and sperm whales - Darwin s Arch offers some of Galápagos Islands's richest diving. Water ranges 23-28°C, warmest February, March, April.
Darwin's Arch, even without the arch itself now, remains an iconic Galápagos dive. You're here for the big pelagics – schooling hammerheads are a frequent sight, often accompanied by Galápagos sharks and silky sharks cruising the blue. It’s a drift dive, best suited for experienced divers comfortable with strong currents and open ocean encounters. Expect a lot of action, but be ready for the ride.
Safety Notes
Strong currents typical this month (avg 36 cm/s). Good buoyancy control essential.
