With 131+ marine species recorded in the area - including dolphins, humpback whales, seals & sea lions, sea turtles and sperm whales - El Bajo Solmar offers some of Galápagos Islands's richest diving. Water ranges 23-28°C, warmest February, March, April.
El Bajo Solmar is a deeper dive, a submerged pinnacle that attracts pelagics. We often see Galápagos sharks here, sometimes hammerheads cruising in the distance, and always plenty of schooling fish. It's a site for advanced divers, as currents can be unpredictable and quite strong. We find it's best to go with an experienced local guide who knows the currents.
