    StandoutRich in charismatic marine life

Punta Vicente Roca, off Isabela’s northwest coast, is one of those sites where you really feel the Galápagos chill. We love a wall dive, and this one drops steeply, coated in colourful sponges and black coral, with plenty of nooks to explore. The cold water upwelling often brings mola molas gliding by, a truly special sight. Keep an eye out for sea horses tucked into the coral, and the occasional bullhead shark patrolling the deeper sections. It’s a site for divers comfortable with cooler temperatures and a bit of current, but the pay-off can be huge.

    Safety Notes

Strong currents typical this month (avg 36 cm/s). Good buoyancy control essential.
