Batu Bolong, Nusa Penida - Lombok & Gili Islands

Batu Bolong, off Nusa Penida’s south coast, is that iconic archway you’ve probably seen in photos. Diving it means timing things just right – it’s a rising tide, low swell operation, and you’ll still contend with some serious current and surge. Down to 23 metres, the pinnacle walls attract pelagics out in the blue, though we’ve mostly spotted whitetip reef sharks and the occasional reef manta ray cruising by. Closer in, among the staghorn and branched sandpaper corals, you’ll find plenty of macro life. It’s a site for confident divers who don't mind a bit of a workout.
