Why dive here
With 246+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue-spotted stingrays, bull sharks, grey reef sharks, manta rays and mobula rays (devil rays) - Batu Meling offers some of Lombok & Gili Islands's richest reef diving. Water ranges 28-30°C, warmest April, May, November.
Batu Meling sits off Lombok, offering a straightforward drift along a sloping reef. We usually find schools of fusiliers here, often with a few reef sharks patrolling deeper. It’s a good choice for divers wanting an easy current ride and a chance to spot larger pelagics moving through.
