Batu Putih - Gili Rengit - Lombok & Gili Islands

Crossroads, a site we always make time for in the Somosomo Strait, feels like exactly what its name suggests: a busy intersection of marine activity. It’s a shallow dive, maxing out around 17 metres for us, but the wall itself keeps dropping into the deep blue, giving it a real edge. We love cruising along the wall, pushing through the gentle current, keeping an eye out for the flashes of Scarlet Soldierfish hiding in the crevices. What truly makes Crossroads special are the swim-throughs. They aren’t complex caves, more like friendly archways draped in sea fans, letting us slip from one side of the wall to the other. Inside, the light shifts, and you’ll often find a Leopard Hind or a congregation of Yellowstriped Cardinalfish just hanging out. Our favourite is watching the endless schools of Blue and Gold Fusiliers streaming past, sometimes so dense they momentarily block the sun. Visibility can be a bit variable, around 13 metres on average, but that just adds to the atmosphere, drawing your eye closer to the wall’s detail. This site suits divers who appreciate a lively, colourful reef with a good mix of pelagic action and macro life, without demanding extreme depths. Expect to spend your dive weaving through arches and watching the flow of the reef, a truly engaging experience.
