Coral Stairs Bali - Lombok & Gili Islands

Haunted Wall, or Ras Misikitini, is one of our favourite spots for a relaxed drift in Pemba. It’s not a dramatic drop, more of a series of small, undulating walls from five metres down to seventeen. We love hugging the wall, letting the gentle current pull us along, eyes peeled for what’s tucked into every crevice. You’ll find some striking hard corals here, big robust formations, and plenty of soft corals swaying in the surge. This site is a macro photographer's dream, honestly. We’ve spent entire dives just in one small section, finding granular frog shells tucked under ledges, or spotting a blood-stained frog shell camouflaged on a rock. Keep an eye out for ribbon eels poking their heads from the sand, their electric blue a sharp contrast to the muted corals. Visibility often hits 15 metres, sometimes more, making for some easy navigation. It’s perfect for divers who prefer a slower pace, who like to truly explore a smaller area rather than just zooming past. We often see blue-spotted rays resting on the sandy patches at the base of the wall, and the resident schools of fusiliers are usually milling about in the blue. For a gentle, rewarding dive where you can truly take your time, this is our pick.
