Gili Air Slope - Lombok & Gili Islands

L'Anse Chemin, or Long Point as some call it, is a proper drift dive and we’d recommend it for experienced divers comfortable with a bit of a ride. It’s about a 30-minute drive from the shop, but the journey sets the stage for a great dive. The reef here slopes steeply, dropping to around 26 meters, and the currents usually give you a good push along. We love watching the sheer volume of creole wrasse and brown chromis here, often schooling so densely they momentarily block out the sun. Keep an eye out for Blackfin Blennies perched on coral heads and Collared Eels peeking from crevices. As you drift shallower towards the point, the current often lessens, giving you time to poke around for octopus and nurse sharks among the corals during your safety stop. It's a proper kick-back-and-enjoy dive, letting the ocean do the work.
