Gili Selang - Lombok & Gili Islands

La Puntica no +, for us, is one of those places where you just breathe a little easier underwater. It’s right on the edge of the coral reef, the last bit before you hit Mangle Island, and the shallow depths make it perfect for just soaking it all in. We often find ourselves drifting along at 10-12 metres, watching the light play through the water as the reef slopes gently away. The coral structures here are seriously intricate, a real maze of Caribbean Vase and Ridged Cactus Coral. You can spend an entire dive just poking around, spotting tiny Arrow Blennies tucked into crevices and Sponge Cardinalfish darting through the coral branches. Our favourite trick here is to look for the Atlantic Midshipman, they're surprisingly common if you know where to search among the rocks. Visibility usually holds around 15 metres, which is plenty to appreciate the sheer number of reef fish - we’ve seen everything from chunky French Grunts schooling up to elegant Queen Angelfish gliding by. It’s a calm, easy dive, ideal for photographers or anyone who just wants to take their time and truly absorb the details of a healthy Caribbean reef.
