Manta Point - Lombok & Gili Islands

Manta Point, off the Lombok coast, is exactly what it sounds like. We’ve had some truly epic encounters here, though it's never a guaranteed show. You’re typically looking for mantas cruising along the deeper edges, often around a rocky pinnacle that acts as a cleaning station. It's a drift dive, usually, with a mild to moderate current sweeping you along. Beyond the main attraction, keep an eye out for blue-spotted stingrays tucked into the sandy patches and the occasional whitetip reef shark patrolling the reef. We’ve found the best conditions are usually in the morning before the wind picks up, when visibility tends to be at its clearest. It’s a site that suits divers comfortable with drifts and focusing on pelagic spotting.
