With 246+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue-spotted stingrays, bull sharks, grey reef sharks, manta rays and mobula rays (devil rays) - Sanur channel offers some of Lombok & Gili Islands's richest drift diving. Water ranges 28-30°C, warmest April, May, November.
The Sanur Channel in Lombok offers a drift dive experience, often a good option for checking out larger pelagics moving with the current. We’ve found it’s less about intricate reef structures and more about the ride, so keep an eye out into the blue. It’s best suited for divers comfortable with currents and those hoping to spot passing sharks or rays rather than macro life. If you’re looking for a relaxed, scenic drift, it’s worth a look.
