Why dive here
With 236+ marine species recorded in the area - including blacktip reef sharks, manta rays, mobula rays (devil rays), pygmy seahorses and sea turtles - BUDI offers some of Raja Ampat's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 29-30°C, warmest May, November, December.
The Budi wreck, resting at a shallow 11 meters, is a straightforward dive. It’s a fishing boat, nothing dramatic, but it’s been down there long enough to attract a good collection of batfish and snappers that hang out around the stern. Penetration is possible for trained wreck divers, but we usually just enjoy a slow circuit, watching the resident schools. It’s a good option for a second dive or if you're keen on seeing a small, accessible wreck.
