With 236+ marine species recorded in the area - including blacktip reef sharks, manta rays, mobula rays (devil rays), pygmy seahorses and sea turtles - Kri Island offers some of Raja Ampat's richest diving. Water ranges 29-30°C, warmest May, November, December.
Kri Island’s Sardines reef, despite the name, has nothing to do with actual sardines. Instead, it refers to the density of other fish you’ll find here, packed in so tight they often obscure the light. We're talking massive schools of trevally and tuna, surging past. We’ve also had incredible encounters with bumphead parrotfish, huge aggregations of them on their relentless coral-munching patrol. It’s a drift dive, so the current does a lot of the work, letting you simply hang back and take it all in. Definitely a spot for divers who love big fish action.
