Mangrove and Slope - Raja Ampat
Mangrove and Slope in Raja Ampat offers a different kind of dive. We like to drift along, starting in the sun-dappled shallows where the mangrove roots dip into the water. It’s a great spot to look for smaller stuff – Denise’s pygmy seahorses can sometimes be found clinging to hydroids, and we’ve spotted Twostripe Eviota flitting about. As the slope drops, you might see a Black sea cucumber making its way across the sand, or a chocolate chip sea star. We’ve even had a few unexpected Reef Manta Ray sightings here, which is always a bonus. It’s a site for divers who appreciate the subtle beauty of a diverse ecosystem beyond just hard corals.
