With 236+ marine species recorded in the area - including blacktip reef sharks, manta rays, mobula rays (devil rays), pygmy seahorses and sea turtles - Mangrove Ridge offers some of Raja Ampat's richest diving. Water ranges 29-30°C, warmest May, November, December.
Mangrove Ridge gives you a completely different feel for Raja Ampat. Instead of dramatic walls, here we glide through shallow, sun-dappled water, weaving between the roots of ancient mangroves. It’s a completely unique habitat, home to species like the Black Sea Cucumber and the fascinating Golden Fern Hydroid. Keep an eye out for juvenile reef fish darting through the seagrass beds, and if you’re lucky, you might even spot a turtle, perhaps an Olive Ridley or even a Leatherback. This site is best for those looking for something a bit unusual, a quiet dive that highlights the intricate ecosystems found above and below the waterline.
