Otdima Reef - Raja Ampat

Otdima Reef gives you a good slice of what Raja Ampat is all about, without necessarily being one of the big-name sites. You drop onto a gently sloping reef, shallowing out around five metres, then easing down to a sandy bottom at 27. We often find a decent number of clown anemonefish nestled in their homes, and the surgeonfish, both bristly and blue-lined, are usually busy grazing. Keep an eye out for the smaller stuff like Denise's pygmy seahorse if you're patient, often clinging to gorgonian fans. It's a reliable dive for ticking off species, maybe not a manta ray every time, but solid macro and plenty of reef fish. A good one for a relaxed afternoon.
