Sawandarek Jetty - Raja Ampat
Sawandarek Jetty is a site we enjoy visiting for its surprisingly rich macro life, tucked right under the village pier. Drop down to the pylons, which are completely encrusted with soft corals and sponges, providing homes for everything from tiny crinoid clingfish to the excellent (and aptly named) cleaner mimic blenny. We’ve had great luck spotting Denise's and Bargibant's pygmy seahorses here if you’ve got a keen eye or a good guide, usually clinging to gorgonians around 15 metres. The shallow reef also holds plenty of clown anemonefish and various cardinalfish darting between the coral heads. It’s an easy, protected dive, perfect for a relaxed afternoon with a camera.
