Shark Point Raja Ampat - Raja Ampat

Tiki, just a short boat ride from shore, is where we often take friends who are new to Moorea diving. It’s got that relaxed vibe, easy to navigate, with a maximum depth of 21 metres. We usually find ourselves drifting along a gentle slope, the reef dotted with big coral heads and plenty of Staghorn coral formations. We love the feeling of being surrounded by schools of Blue-lined Tang and Mimic Surgeonfish, always busy picking at the reef. Keep an eye out for the smaller stuff here too; we’ve spotted some beautiful cowries tucked into crevices and even a few cloth-of-gold cone snails if you look closely. This site is a solid choice for an afternoon dive, particularly if you’ve had a busy morning. The visibility averages a generous 23 metres, so you’ll have clear views of the resident Grey Sharks, Lemon Sharks, and the ever-present Black Tip Reef Sharks cruising by. It’s exposed to waves and sometimes current, so conditions can vary, but on a calm day, it’s just a really pleasant dive. We’d suggest Tiki for divers looking for a straightforward, beautiful reef dive with reliable shark sightings and a good variety of fish life, without anything too strenuous.
