With 236+ marine species recorded in the area - including blacktip reef sharks, manta rays, mobula rays (devil rays), pygmy seahorses and sea turtles - West Reef's End offers some of Raja Ampat's richest reef diving. Water ranges 29-30°C, warmest May, November, December.
West Reef’s End gives you a solid slice of Raja Ampat’s smaller stuff. While it might not have the big pelagics that draw the crowds, we’ve found this spot excels in the macro department, especially if you’re into gobies and cowries. Keep an eye out for the Patchwork Goby perched on its coral home, and if you’re patient, you might spot a Snakehead or Lined-lip Cowrie slowly making its way across the reef. It’s a good choice for divers who appreciate slowing down and really examining the reef's intricate details.
