Why dive here
With 236+ marine species recorded in the area - including blacktip reef sharks, manta rays, mobula rays (devil rays), pygmy seahorses and sea turtles - Yilliet offers some of Raja Ampat's richest diving. Water ranges 29-30°C, warmest May, November, December.
Yilliet offers a standard Raja Ampat reef experience, less dramatic than some of the more famous sites but still worthwhile. Expect healthy hard and soft corals and a good mix of reef fish. We often see Napoleon wrasse here, along with the usual schools of fusiliers. It's a solid choice for an easy afternoon dive, especially if you're looking for a relaxed drift.
Safety Notes
Strong currents typical this month (avg 35 cm/s). Good buoyancy control essential.
