With 153+ marine species recorded in the area - including sea turtles, sperm whales, whale sharks and pufferfish - Pulau Yu Kecil offers some of Perhentian Islands's richest reef diving. Water ranges 28-31°C, warmest May, June, August.
Pulau Yu Kecil sits just off the main Perhentian Besar island, a reliable spot for an easy dive. It’s mostly a gentle slope down to about 20 meters, good for those still getting comfortable. We often see green turtles here, sometimes resting on the sandy patches, sometimes munching on the corals. Look out for schools of yellowtail snappers and barracudas, they seem to enjoy circling the deeper pinnacles. It's a nice, relaxed dive if you're keen to spot some bigger stuff without fighting a current.
