Atmosphere Resorts - Dumaguete
The team at Atmosphere Resorts are, frankly, brilliant. We’ve had some of our most chilled-out dive trips here, and a lot of that comes down to their slick operation. They really get that you’re on holiday, and they make diving effortless. We love that Atmosphere is a PADI 5 Star CDC, which means top-notch training if you’re looking to upskill, but it’s their house reef that really steals the show for us. Just a few steps from your room, you’re often finning over robust hard corals, spotting frogfish, pipefish, and occasionally a passing turtle. It’s perfect for those lazy morning dives or a quick afternoon splash. They’re big on Apo Island trips, and for good reason – the turtles there are ridiculous. So many, so chill. We’d suggest getting on the earliest boat if you can, before the bigger crowds arrive. Another highlight is the muck diving in Dauin. The guides here have an uncanny knack for finding critters you’d swim right past – flamboyant cuttlefish, blue-ringed octopuses, all the weird and wonderful stuff. It’s not about grand vistas, it’s about slow, focused searching, and the Atmosphere guides excel at it. This is a place where you can switch off completely, dive great sites, and feel truly looked after.
