With 87+ marine species recorded in the area - including sea turtles, thresher sharks, lionfish and pufferfish - Evolution reef offers some of Malapascua's richest reef diving. Water ranges 28-31°C, warmest May, June, July.
Evolution Reef, just off Malapascua, is a gentle sloping coral reef, reaching depths around 20 metres. We often see scorpionfish and frogfish camouflaged amongst the soft corals, along with the usual reef fish. It’s a good spot for a relaxed second dive of the day, especially for those looking for macro subjects or newer divers. The currents are generally mild here, making for an easy drift.
