PORO POINT - Siargao

We know Siargao for its surf, but beneath the waves, there's Poro Point. It’s a shallow wreck, only five metres deep, making it a fantastic second dive or a relaxed introduction to wreck diving. The old carrier vessel, scuttled back in ‘82, now lies upright, its hull a skeletal frame draped in sponges and soft corals. Swimming over the deck, you’ll find schools of rabbitfish grazing, and we always spot a few lionfish tucked into the shadowed nooks. The bow is our favourite part, with barracuda sometimes circling lazily above the mast. It’s an easy swim-through in parts, perfect for honing your buoyancy without anything too technical. We'd suggest going at high tide; the visibility often feels a touch better, and the light filtering through the shallow water really makes the colours pop. Poro Point suits divers looking for a mellow dive with a bit of history, a real contrast to the usual reef dives you find around here.
