Camayan Divers - Subic Bay
The team at Camayan Divers are a solid choice for exploring Subic Bay's wrecks. We've spent many a morning with them, often being the first boat out, which is key if you want to beat the weekend crowds descending on the *El Capitan* or the *New York*. They know these wrecks like the back of their hand, pointing out the batfish schooling in the holds and the occasional turtle resting on the superstructure. What we love about diving with Camayan is their relaxed but professional vibe. They’re not rushing you, even when you’re fumbling with a recalcitrant fin strap. Their boats are comfortable enough for a surface interval nap between dives on the *San Quentin* and a shallower reef. Our favourite tip, honed over several visits, is to ask them about their early morning schedule; hitting the *Landing Craft* before other boats arrive means you get those incredible shafts of light filtering into the wreck, illuminating the glassfish. It really makes a difference. They’re PADI 5 Star, so courses are available, but honestly, their real strength is guided dives for certified divers who want to immerse themselves in Subic’s unique history beneath the waves.
