KD PENDEKAR - Southern Islands

KD Pendekar isn't your average Singapore dive site. Forget pretty corals; this is a proper wreck, and we love it for its moody, almost spooky vibe. Dropping onto the deck at 15m, you're immediately struck by its presence – a ghost of its former self, now an artificial reef. The light shifts constantly through the superstructure, creating these fantastic shadows, especially if you catch it on a sunny afternoon. This isn't a penetration dive, but there's plenty to explore externally. We always find something new tucked away: schools of fusiliers swirl around the mast, and we've spotted resident batfish hanging out by the bridge. Keep an eye out for nudibranchs on the encrusting sponges too; they seem to thrive here. It's a fantastic site for anyone who appreciates the history and the way nature reclaims these wrecks. Just be mindful of the currents; they can pick up pretty quickly, so time your dive right, preferably around slack tide.
