KLM Ray Moon III - Southern Islands

The KLM Ray Moon III wreck dive is probably our favourite Singapore dive. It’s a proper wreck, not just scattered debris, and feels like a genuine exploration. Dropping down, the first thing you notice is the sheer size of the ship, lying on its starboard side at 30 metres. The current can be fierce here, often ripping past the hull, so good buoyancy and finning are essential. We love finning along the deck, sometimes catching a glimpse into the hold, where you can imagine cargo still sitting. Lionfish hover lazily, completely unfazed by divers, and massive schools of fusiliers swirl around the superstructure, so dense they actually dim the light. Our pick for best time to dive is definitely slack tide, when you can really take your time to explore the bridge area and peer into the darker recesses. It's a dive that rewards careful observation; look closely for decorator crabs camouflaged on the metal and small nudibranchs clinging to the barnacled surfaces. This dive suits experienced divers comfortable with deeper wrecks and potentially strong currents.
