KM. LAUT NATUNA 28/KM. SUDHITA 28 - Southern Islands

Singapore diving often gets a bad rap, but if you know where to look, there are some genuinely interesting sites. The KM. LAUT NATUNA 28, also known as the KM. SUDHITA 28, is one of our favourite deep wrecks in the Southern Islands. This isn't a coral garden, let's be clear; it’s a fishing vessel, tangled and broken, lying well beyond recreational limits at 50 metres. What we love about it is the sheer volume of life that has claimed this steel hull. You descend into the gloom, and as the wreck materialises, you see clouds of fusiliers and snapper. We've often seen large groupers patrolling its perimeter. The structure itself is quite broken up in places, which makes for some dramatic swim-throughs if you're experienced and careful. It’s a challenging dive, best suited for technical divers comfortable with depth and overhead environments. Visibility here can be hit or miss, typical for Singapore, so aim for a slack tide to get the most out of your bottom time.
