NO. 4128 - Southern Islands

Okay, so No. 4128, down in the Southern Islands. This isn't one for the casual dip, let's be clear. It’s a proper dive, down at 27 metres, on a lighter vessel that’s been down there long enough to feel like part of the seabed. What we love about this wreck is the way it just… sits. It's not dramatic, no broken masts pointing to the surface. Instead, it’s a calm, complete structure that now provides a home for an incredible amount of life, considering where we are. You’ll drop down onto the deck, usually with decent visibility, and immediately feel the history. There's a stillness to it. Our favourite moments here are spent slowly finning around the superstructure, peering into the hold openings, watching the resident batfish circle. We’ve seen cuttlefish here, too, often tucked into shadowed corners, changing colours as you approach. It’s a fantastic wreck for divers who enjoy exploration without penetration, a chance to really appreciate how metal becomes reef. Go on a neap tide for the best chance of settled water, and take your time. This one rewards patience.
