The MV Samudra, sitting at 23 meters in the Southern Islands, is a proper shipwreck dive, not just a pile of debris. This old motor vessel, sunk in 1952, has settled upright, making for some interesting penetration if you know what you’re doing and the conditions allow. We’ve found barracuda often hang out in the superstructure, and its hold offers shelter to schools of rabbitfish. It’s a good spot for wreck enthusiasts looking for something beyond a natural reef, though visibility can be temperamental. If you time it right with slack tide, it’s a rewarding dive for advanced open water divers.

Wreck site - avoid penetration without wreck diving certification. Watch for sharp metal and entanglement hazards.

Always perform a 3-minute safety stop at 5m before surfacing.
