    StandoutExceptional marine biodiversity

UNIRI is a wreck dive, shallow enough to explore without ever really dropping below a metre. The motor vessel went down in heavy weather back in 1973, and what’s left of her hull and superstructure now sits just offshore from Tanjung Datok. You won’t find pristine corals here, but the wreck itself acts as a kind of artificial reef. Small schooling fish dart around the metal frames, and we often spot crab and shrimp tucked into the crevices. It’s a good spot for newer divers looking to get a feel for wreck diving in a very forgiving environment, or for photographers keen on macro subjects without the hassle of depth.
