Ocean Sound and Dive + Yoga - Koh Tao

Ocean Sound is one of those places you stumble upon and wonder why it isn't busier. We love it because it’s a dive shop that gets the details right, and offers a refreshing change from some of Koh Tao’s more… energetic operations. Our favourite dives here often start with a quiet morning yoga session, stretching out the kinks before gearing up. It really sets a calmer tone for the day. Underwater, the reefs around Ocean Sound are surprisingly vibrant, often a riot of golds and purples from the resident peacock wrasse and delicate blennies darting in and out of the cracks. Keep an eye out for the bubblefin wrasse, too; they're almost iridescent in the sunlight. We’ve had some fantastic encounters with webfoot octopus here, usually tucked into a rocky crevice, just watching us pass. The visibility can vary, as it does across Koh Tao, but even on a slightly murkier day, the sheer number of smaller, shyer species makes it a rewarding dive. It's a spot that truly rewards a slower, more deliberate pace, ideal for macro lovers or anyone looking to escape the usual dive site hustle.
