Twins - Koh Tao

Twins is one of our go-to Koh Tao sites, a solid choice for a relaxing dive no matter your experience. It's got two main, well, twins, of bommies rising from the sand, which is where all the action happens. The depth here typically hovers around 10 to 18 metres, making it perfect for longer bottom times and really soaking in the details. We love how reliably busy it is with smaller reef fish. You'll often find yourself swimming through schools of Indo-Pacific and Scissortail sergeants, sometimes so dense they momentarily block the light. Keep an eye out for the smaller stuff too; the Coral and Banded Blennies are always a treat to watch peeking out of their little holes, and the Goldspeckled Shrimpgobies are usually busy tending their burrows. The staghorn coral patches are healthy, providing plenty of nooks and crannies for juvenile fish. We find early mornings are less crowded and the light hitting the bommies is particularly pretty. It’s a site that rewards slow exploration, rather than rushing through.
