VEERATHEP 14 - Koh Tao

The VeeratheP 14 isn't another artificial reef project, it's a genuine fishing trawler, sunk deliberately, and that raw authenticity is what we love about it. Dropped perfectly upright, this 40-meter vessel settled onto the seabed at 27 meters, making for a straightforward dive. We usually start at the bow, poking our heads into the wheelhouse, then work our way aft along the deck. You'll find batfish often schooling in the open holds, and sometimes a grumpy moray eel peeking from a pipe. What makes it a standout is the way the wreck interacts with the surrounding sand. Look for blue-spotted stingrays half-buried near the stern, and big groupers lurking in the shadows underneath. It’s a site that feels real, not manicured, and the currents here are usually mild, perfect for newer wreck divers or those wanting a relaxed bottom time. We think the best light is in the mid-morning, really bringing out the rust colours and the blues of the sand around it.
