Moore Reef’s ‘5 Ways’ isn’t just a catchy name; it’s a crossroads of currents and coral, pulling in a surprising cast of characters. We love dropping in on the northern side, letting the gentle drift carry us along. The reef itself has a real sense of architecture, with swim-throughs and ledges carved out by time and water. Keep an eye out for the Rainford's and Latticed Butterflyfish, they’re almost always flitting around the bommies. We often spot them near the coral heads, where the light plays through the water, revealing their colours. What we really enjoy here is the blend of reef fish against a backdrop of the larger pelagics passing through. One moment you're watching a Mimic Blenny ducking into its hole, the next a school of Yellow Tangs flows past, almost blinding you with colour. It’s a site that rewards a slow pace, letting you really observe the behaviour. This is a solid pick for divers who appreciate a healthy, dynamic reef without battling strong currents.
