Itata - Sydney & New South Wales

The Itata, a former Chilean cargo ship, offers a truly engaging wreck dive for those exploring Sydney's coastline. We often find the wreck sitting upright, mostly intact, which makes for some great swim-throughs – just be sure to watch your buoyancy in the tighter sections. Schools of yellowtail scad flit in and out of the cargo holds, and we’ve spotted wobbegong sharks tucked under the collapsed superstructure more than once. It’s a rewarding dive, especially if you appreciate the history and marine life that takes over these old ships.
