Fausse passe de Uitoé - Prony Bay

Kichwani is our absolute favourite on the Mnemba Atoll, a site we always return to for its sheer fish density and those delightful little surprises. The reef wall here is pure theatre, a riot of hard and soft corals that starts shallow and just keeps going. We love drifting along, eyes peeled for Goldbar wrasse darting between the coral heads, or tracing the path of a serene Green Turtle gliding past. The real showstopper, though, is that enormous glassfish shelter, usually around 20-25 metres. Dropping in there feels like swimming through a living, shimmering cloud. It’s an experience that never gets old. Keep an eye on the blue too; we’ve often spotted schools of jackfish cruising by, and if you’re lucky, a Napoleon wrasse might even make an appearance. While the site description says 18m, we find the best of it is definitely deeper, closer to 25-30m. Kichwani is a genuinely rewarding dive for anyone who appreciates a healthy reef packed with fish life, offering something new to spot with every visit.
