Mayor Island - Northern tip - Goat Island & Hauraki Gulf

The northern tip of Mayor Island offers some dramatic volcanic topography. Think basalt columns and interesting rock formations that provide cover for schooling fish and bigger pelagics out in the blue. We often see kingfish here, along with bronze whaler sharks patrolling the deeper edges. It’s generally a drift dive, best suited for experienced divers comfortable with variable currents.
