Caribe Breeze Wreck - Andros
The Caribe Breeze isn't your average crumpled steel heap. This old Bahamian customs patrol boat sits upright and intact in about 15 metres, practically begging for a proper explore. We love that you can still swim through the bridge, peer into the engine room, and even pop into the galley – it's like stepping back into its working life, just with more fish. Look out for the resident moray eels peeking from every nook and cranny, and keep an eye on the deck for curious garden eels swaying in the gentle current. The real joy here is the way the light filters through the portholes, illuminating schools of silversides that flicker like disco balls inside the hull. It's a relaxed dive, perfect for photographers or anyone who enjoys a proper penetration without needing advanced certs. We'd suggest going early; sometimes a small current picks up in the afternoon, making the swim-throughs a bit more of a workout.

The Caribe Breeze is one of Andros's more enigmatic dive sites. Little is known about the vessel's history or how it came to rest on the seabed, and its story remains largely a mystery. Based on its name, it was likely a small passenger vessel or island ferry that plied the turquoise waters of the Caribbean before meeting its untimely end. For divers, this lack of a clear history only adds to the allure of exploration, inviting them to piece together clues from the wreckage itself.
Today, the Caribe Breeze offers a compelling dive into the unknown. As you descend, the vessel's ghostly form slowly emerges from the blue, now completely transformed into an artificial reef. The structure is adorned with colorful sponges and corals, attracting a diverse population of reef fish, lobsters, and moray eels. Exploring its decks and companionways feels like uncovering a forgotten secret, making the Caribe Breeze a memorable adventure for inquisitive divers visiting the waters of Andros.
