Stuart Cove's Dive Bahamas - Andros
The team at Stuart Cove's Dive Bahamas are, without a doubt, the people to dive with if you're keen on shark encounters. We've been back a few times and it’s their professionalism, combined with the sheer number of sharks, that keeps us coming back. They offer a proper PADI 5-star setup, so if you're looking to get certified or just brush up on skills, you're in good hands. If you’re a diver who wants to get up close with Caribbean reef sharks in a controlled environment, this is your spot. Our favourite part of diving with Stuart Cove’s is definitely the shark feeding dives. We're talking dozens of sharks, circling, bumping, and just generally being magnificent. You'll descend onto a sandy patch, kneel down, and watch as a bait box is introduced. The current pulls the scent, and then the sharks arrive. It's not a frenetic free-for-all; it's a calm, awe-inspiring ballet of power. We love the feeling of the water shifting as they glide past, just a few feet away. Aside from the sharks, they also run trips to some solid wall dives and a few interesting wreck sites, including a couple used in Bond movies – a fun novelty. Visibility here is usually excellent, often 20-30 metres, so you get clear views of everything. Go for an early morning trip if you can; the sharks tend to be a bit more active, and you beat some of the later crowds.
