Something to See - Eleuthera & Harbour Island

Kogangas Rock isn't for the faint of heart, or for those who skimp on drysuit insulation. This is Alaska diving, raw and exhilarating. We love the sheer drama of the place, where kelp forests sway in the currents like ancient trees, and the rock itself plunges into the gloom. Visibility can be hit or miss, but on a good day, when the sun penetrates the surface, it’s a genuinely spectacular sight. You’ll encounter a very different cast of characters here compared to warmer climes. Giant octopuses are the real stars, often found tucked into rocky crevices, their intelligent eyes watching you. We’ve also had incredible encounters with playful sea lions zipping through the kelp. Keep an eye out for the vibrant red soft corals contrasting against the dark rock, and the odd Spotted Ratfish gliding past. This site is definitely best suited for experienced cold-water divers who appreciate the wild side of diving and don't mind a bit of a current.
