Boy Scout - Klein Bonaire

Boy Scout, on Klein Bonaire, is a site we return to again and again. It’s got a lovely, gentle drift, perfect for just letting the water carry you along the reef. Drop in around 10-12 metres, and you’re immediately greeted by massive mustard hill coral formations, towering like underwater cities. We love to take our time here, especially around midday when the light really pops on the sandy patches. Keep an eye out for the smaller stuff. This is a blenny haven; we’ve spotted spinyhead blennies peeking from every crevice, and the puffcheek blennies are always a treat. Those yellow pencil corals are everywhere, providing perfect camouflage for rusty gobies. The reef slopes down, but we find the sweetest action is often in that shallower, sun-drenched zone. It’s a great spot for photographers looking for macro subjects, or just anyone who wants a relaxing, beautiful dive without fighting a current. You might even catch a loggerhead turtle cruising past the turtlegrass beds.
