Cai - Klein Bonaire

Cai holds a special spot for us, especially on a calm morning. It’s not about dramatic walls or huge pelagics here. Instead, Cai offers this incredible, gentle slope where the light plays beautifully through the water, illuminating the corals. We love drifting along, eyes peeled for the smaller stuff, and Cai truly delivers. You'll find a surprising amount of detail on the reef; we’ve spent ages watching the Pearl Blennies darting in and out, and the Puffcheek Blennies doing their hilarious head bobs. Look for the Bluegold Gobies too, always a treat. The real beauty of Cai is its reliability for a relaxed dive. We often spot Hawksbill Turtles here, just chilling out amongst the Staghorn coral patches. The French grunts gather in big, shimmering schools, sometimes so thick you have to swim through them. If you’re into macro, keep an eye out for the Four Tooth Toothshell and the Antilles Glass-slugs – they’re tiny but totally fascinating. This site is perfect for photographers who appreciate a steady drift and the chance to really focus on the smaller reef inhabitants without fighting current or crowds. It's a great second dive of the day, when you want to take it easy and just soak it all in.
