Invisibles - Klein Bonaire

Invisibles is one of our favourite drifts on Klein Bonaire. It’s got that classic Bonaire slope, starting shallow and just dropping away into the deep blue, but what we love here is the sheer density of life. The coral formations, a mix of great star coral, grooved brain coral, and blushing star coral, are fantastic, huge mounds and intricate maze coral structures that provide endless nooks for smaller creatures. Keep your eyes peeled, because this is a goby hotspot. We always spot the tiny, colourful banded and bicolor basslets darting in and out of the crevices, and the elusive shark nose and bluegold gobies are often here. Don’t rush the shallows either. That’s where you’ll find the keeltail needlefish hanging out, almost invisible against the surface, and the Molly Miller blennies doing their thing. We’ve seen green and hawksbill turtles munching on the shoagrass in the shallows on nearly every dive here. It’s a site that rewards slow exploration, especially for macro lovers. The current typically isn't too strong, making it perfect for lingering. We'd suggest an early morning dive to avoid any boat traffic later in the day.
