Larry's Lair - Klein Bonaire

Larry's Lair on Klein Bonaire is exactly the kind of gentle, meandering dive we crave after a few current-heavy sites. It's a drift that feels more like a slow, deliberate glide. We love the gradual slope here, dropping gently from a vibrant shallow reef down to a sandy bottom around 25-30 metres, where you often find little patches of Garden Eels swaying. The reef itself is a tapestry of Maze Coral and sponges, always busy with Parrotfish crunching away. Keep an eye out for the smaller stuff too; we've spent ages watching Yellowline Arrow Crabs waving from crevices, and the elusive Nine-lined and Bluegold Gobies are common here if you look closely. Down deeper, the sand flats are where you’re likely to spot a large Loggerhead Turtle cruising along or catch a pair of Caribbean Reef Squid changing colours right before your eyes. It’s an easy, relaxed dive, perfect for photographers wanting to take their time or for divers who just want to unwind and soak it all in. We’d suggest going in the late morning, after the initial rush, when the light really penetrates the shallows.
