Salt Pier - Klein Bonaire

Salt Pier is one of those dives we always make time for, even if we’ve already been a dozen times. It’s industrial, sure, but that’s its charm. Diving among those massive concrete pillars, draped in soft corals and sponges, feels like exploring a submerged sculpture garden. We love the way the light filters through the pier structure, creating these incredible shafts and patterns in the water – it’s genuinely beautiful and makes for fantastic photos, especially on a sunny afternoon. The pilings are just covered in life. You’ll spot huge schools of baitfish, like Round Scad, swirling around the columns, often attracting larger predators. We’ve had incredible encounters with Caribbean reef squid here, often hanging out in small groups, completely unafraid. Keep an eye out for interesting macro stuff too; those Yellowline Arrow Crabs are everywhere, and we often find Pearl Blennies peeking out of holes in the coral. It’s an easy, relatively shallow dive, perfect for photographers or anyone who just wants to drift slowly and soak it all in. Definitely go when there's plenty of sun overhead.
