TILISA DEL MAR - Klein Bonaire

Tilisa del Mar, just off Klein Bonaire, is our kind of wreck dive. It’s not some deep, dark mystery, but a proper, explorable ferry sitting upright in only 10 metres of water. We love a wreck where you can really see the structure, feel the scale of the vessel, and Tilisa delivers. She went down in '83, a navigation error apparently, and now she's a fantastic artificial reef. We've spent hours finning along her 50-metre length, ducking through doorways into what used to be passenger cabins, and peering into the darker holds. Sunlight filters in through the upper decks, illuminating schools of snapper that swirl around the wheelhouse. Keep an eye out for moray eels tucked into every crevice; they’re almost guaranteed here. This site is perfect for photographers, especially wide-angle, with that clear Bonairean light and the wreck’s imposing silhouette against the blue. It’s also brilliant for newer wreck divers, giving you that 'inside the wreck' feel without any real penetration hazards or depth concerns. Dive it slow, take your time, and you’ll find something new every pass.
