Wayaka 2 - Klein Bonaire

Wayaka 2 on Klein Bonaire isn't just a drift dive, it’s a gentle float through a busy metropolis of fish. We love how the reef here just rolls out like a carpet, starting shallow and gradually sloping down. It’s perfect for those lazy afternoon dives when you just want to take it all in. Keep an eye out for the smaller stuff – the Dusky Blennies are everywhere, popping their heads out of crevices, and we’ve spotted Cherub Pygmy Angelfish darting between the Finger and Pillar corals. Look closely and you’ll often find a Mottled Conger Moray peeking out from under a ledge. We particularly enjoy the section where the Great Star Coral forms these impressive, brain-like structures; they almost glow in the afternoon light. It's a great spot to see Green Turtles cruising by, seemingly unbothered by divers. This site is ideal for photographers looking for macro subjects, or anyone who enjoys a relaxed, unhurried exploration of a healthy Caribbean reef. Just remember to look up sometimes; the schools of Blue Parrotfish can be surprisingly dense.
