FIONA R - Southwest Coast

The *Fiona R* is a Grenada classic for a reason, even if it often gets overshadowed by the *Bianca C*. We think that’s a shame because she’s a wonderfully accessible wreck, sitting upright in the sand, just off St. George’s. At a maximum depth of 12 metres, it's a perfect second dive or a fantastic spot for newer wreck divers to get their fins wet. When you drop down, the first thing you notice is the sheer size of her, at nearly 60 metres long. The visibility here is often fantastic, 20 metres isn't uncommon, letting you take in the whole ship from the bow to the stern. We love swimming through the cargo holds, where the light filters down in shafts, illuminating schools of snapper and grunt sheltering within. Look for the resident green moray eel that often pokes its head out from a pipe near the engine room. The deck is carpeted in soft corals and sponges, a brilliant contrast to the rusted metal, and we always spot plenty of trumpetfish and angelfish weaving through the superstructure. It's an easy-going wreck dive, perfect for just exploring at your own pace.
